STEWARDSHIP

“Stewardship Appeal” is now in the past. This diocesan appeal will now be replaced by a parish-based appeal. All parishes of the diocese will tithe. Our parish will tithe annually to the ministries of the diocese using the following formula:  10% of the first $200,000; 18% of anything over $200,000.

But what does this really mean to us? It means we have to let love guide us, we need to pray and ask the Lord to let it happen. We need to give as we live — through commitment, bible study, witness, prayer, how we manage our lives, our ability to give and our personal goals for spiritual growth. And we need to live Christ-centered lives with Christian goals.

Security, happiness and success come from trusting and obeying Christ. Productivity and success come from God’s goodness. When we use our abilities and spiritual gifts fruitfully we can enlarge our influence by investing first fruits for God’s work. This is our parish and every member is important when it comes to the Lord’s work, we need to reach out with open hands and hearts with a fresh and exciting challenge to live and give for the Lord.
